We have a fleet of 200 cranes ranging from 2.5T to 1200T, including minicranes, Frannas, all-terrains and crawler cranes. Universal Cranes began as a family crane hire business in 1993 and have grown to become a national crane hire company. What we offer The opportunity to work with the newest crane models featuring advanced electronic and computer control systems A dynamic and supportive working environment with a strong team culture Competitive pay rates Ongoing training and career development opportunities About the role Perform planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of cranes Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults – in the workshop and on‑site Minimise downtime through efficient troubleshooting, especially of electronic systems and onboard diagnostics Maintain electrical systems Mechanical repairs and servicing Promote health and safety at all times Qualifications and experience Required: Demonstrated experience in the crane industry Relevant tickets/licences (e.g. White Card) Relevant trade qualifications (Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic) Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure A positive, team‑oriented approach Preferred: High‑risk work licence – Open Crane Current driver’s licence – Heavy Rigid or above Experience in crane computer systems Crane manufacture training Auto electrical qualification Additional requirements: Pass pre‑employment medical and drug & alcohol testing Police check and other visa requirements This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to expand their career in a well‑established growing business.
