When you volunteer in your local branch, you'll become part of the #WishForce helping children who are fighting serious illnesses by: Getting active in your local branch meetings (held monthly) Helping local wish families by capturing their child's unique wish and bringing it to life through all stages of the Wish Journey You have the opportunity to: Join an inspiring organisation, where you will help children experience the anticipation and long lasting effects of a wish‑come‑true Receive training to get you wish‑ready Access Community, our online support network where you can connect with other members of our Wish Force and access handy resources Make connections and build lifelong friendships There are few experiences more powerful than helping make a wish come true. Together, we have helped countless local families through fundraising, events and wish‑related activities. Before submitting your interest to become a volunteer, it's important for you to please consider the following key requirements of a Branch Volunteer: A commitment of at least 12 months as a Branch volunteer to ensure consistency for wish children and their families. A comprehensive background check, including interview, reference checks, a Working with Children Check (or equivalent for your State/Territory) and a National Background Check. All volunteers must complete online induction training within their first 6 weeks of becoming a volunteer, so must have basic technical skills and access to a personal email address and a computer or smart phone/device. Regular attendance at monthly Branch meetings, held once a month on a weekday evening. The ability to attend meetings, wishes and fundraising events, so volunteers must have access to reliable transport.
