By sharing your time and skills, you can help Australian children experiencing life‑threatening illnesses. When you volunteer in your local branch, you'll become part of the #WishForce helping children who are fighting serious illnesses by: Getting active in your local branch meetings (held monthly) Helping local wish families by capturing their child's unique wish and bringing it to life through all stages of the Wish Journey Supporting local fundraising and events, from fun runs and sausage sizzles to gala balls and bake-offs Raising awareness and support in your local community, helping drive our reach and impact to achieve our mission. Before submitting your interest to become a volunteer, it's important for you to please consider the following key requirements of a Branch Volunteer: A commitment of at least 12 months as a volunteer to ensure consistency for wish children and their families. A comprehensive background check, including interview, reference checks, a Working with Children Check (or equivalent for your State/Territory) and a National Background Check. All volunteers must complete online induction training within their first 6 weeks of becoming a volunteer, so must have basic technical skills and access to a personal email address and a computer or smartphone/device. Regular attendance at monthly Branch meetings, held once a month on a weekday evening. Have access to reliable transport to attend meetings, wishes and fundraising events.
