Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small‑medium enterprise customers, mid‑market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. It also services our personal and institutional online trading customers. The Payments domain brings together the process, people and technology assets supporting real‑time, bulk electronic, cheques, high value and international payments processing for the Bank. With the payments technology systems being at the heart of the Bank, almost every customer‑facing channel relies on payments services in one way or another. We are currently looking for 2 x Product Owner Payments Platform within the Payments domain, across all of the bank’s account to account (A2A) payments. You will work closely with the business to deliver exceptional outcomes for our business stakeholders and customers, both internally and externally. Do work that matters As a Product Owner, you will lead and define the product vision, goals and roadmap. You will lead the end‑to‑end development of the product roadmap ensuring maximum output and quality from the squad. You will apply domain expertise to support prioritisation and successful achievement of business and squad objectives. In this role, you will: Be accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations. Act as the voice of the business and translate this for the team. Ensure alignment of product strategy. Formulate hypotheses to validate customer problems and define clear learning objectives that will inform product roadmap and prioritisation decisions. Identify, articulate and manage risks and compliance across streams of work. Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design. Lead and develop the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/ business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap. Lead the squad day‑to‑day to deliver change and lifecycle activities. Maintain a healthy prioritised backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes. Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to. Manage the squad’s performance to defined objectives. Release prototype and iterate a product that meets customer needs and achieves the Crew’s goals. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner. Experience with agile methodology. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously. Good communication and negotiation skills. A background in payments or related services would be highly regarded.
