As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure to ensure they meet safety and reliability standards. Your efforts will help keep freight services running smoothly by: Performing routine corrective maintenance and fault repairs on rollingstock. Reporting actual work completed versus scheduled tasks. Adhering to technical and operational specifications for all work performed. Keeping detailed records of asset condition, maintenance programs, and costs. Advancing work procedures and practices to drive continuous quality improvement. Repairing and maintaining large diesel‑electric locomotives and related equipment. Providing support to other WA maintenance depots as per EA agreement. About You Strong dedication to safety. Proven ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings. Extensive knowledge of equipment functions, defects, and fault‑finding. Experience with the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of locomotives or heavy industrial plant is preferred, but not essential. Experience with Cummins, EMD, GE, GM industrial/power generation repairs and diagnostics is highly regarded. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a category 3 rail medical, which includes drug and alcohol screening. What we offer you Development and growth opportunities.
