Spinifex Hill Studio in South Hedland is a place for Aboriginal artists to paint, share community, and culture. Our artists come from many language groups, creating diverse and vibrant art. About the role The role of the Studio Assistant is to contribute to the Spinifex Hill Studio (an Aboriginal art studio) and Spinifex Hill Gallery (an exhibition space and community programming facility). Key Responsibilities Support the artists and operations by maintaining a positive, organised working space Food and beverage preparation Help with events like workshops and exhibitions Assist with technical activities including stretching, canvas and paint preparation, cataloguing and photography of artwork Assist with packing, shipping, labelling and storage of artwork Qualifications & Requirements Understanding of community engagement and cultural respect Current or ability to obtain a National Police Clearance Desirable Qualifications Experience in a similar role in an art studio Check out the position description available via Dropbox: Send your current resume.
