Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 3 Clinical Mental Health Dietitian to join the Northern Mental Health Dietetics team. Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub‑acute, mental health, specialist, community and home‑based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, mental health services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. About Mental Health Division: Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria. Within the Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles. We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services. About the Role This role requires a suitably qualified dietitian to deliver high‑quality nutrition services across the Northern Mental Health Services (AMHS). It is suited to a dietitian with an understanding of mental health dietetics, a commitment to weight inclusive care practices and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Undertaking a direct consumer facing role across the AMHS including community, sub‑acute and acute sites. Provision of nutrition support to consumers with severe mental illness who are at risk of or experiencing metabolic syndrome and severe eating disorders. Provision of group work and education. Providing support and education to staff across the multidisciplinary teams, and contribution to the orientation and training of staff with the support & direction of the senior clinical dietitians. Contributing to innovation in quality improvement, service evaluation and research. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in the management of consumers with severe mental illness including eating disorders. Demonstrated commitment to weight‑inclusive care and ability to apply non‑stigmatising approaches into practice. Experience working collaboratively with other health care team members. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in individual and group counselling. Ability to demonstrate effective presentation skills for the purpose of education for staff, students and consumers. Ability to work independently and part of a multidisciplinary team. Next Steps . .
