Overview Our Australian water dam and hydro business at KCB Australia Pty Ltd (KCB) is growing and we are looking for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to help lead the expansion of our water balance capability. Our current clients include major mining companies, bulk water supply authorities, and other teams within KCB who require specialist support for tailings and hydrogeology projects. Projects range from water dams and hydroelectric facilities to tailings and waste storage, water management structures, and mine infrastructure. We work through the entire project cycle – green field studies, feasibility, site investigation, design, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and closure – giving engineers challenging and rewarding work that develops a diverse skill set in both field and office settings. Responsibilities • Manage and provide technical leadership on mine water management projects. • Mentor and develop junior staff through technical support and feedback. • Build and maintain strong client relationships and continually develop the business. • Undertake senior review of project deliverables to ensure technical soundness and compliance with KCB’s quality management system. • Lead and participate in business development initiatives related to mine water management. • Work with multidisciplinary teams across our offices from preliminary investigations through construction. • Act as technical resource within project teams and contribute to engineering activities. • Visit project sites as required and travel within Australia and internationally. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (post‑graduate qualifications welcome) Professional Engineering registration (CPEng or RPEQ) or ability to attain registration within a year Knowledge of Australian guidelines and standards, particularly Australian Rainfall and Runoff 2019 Demonstrated experience with relevant industry software for hydrologic modelling (RORB, WBNM, URBS, XPRAFTs, etc.) and hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW, HEC‑RAS, etc.) Experience preparing engineering reports, drawings and specifications for studies and construction projects Superior verbal and written communication skills Strong initiative and commitment to technical excellence Exceptional team spirit, interpersonal skills and ability to build long‑term successful relationships with clients and project teams Benefits Additional superannuation: 2.5% extra Income protection insurance Parental and volunteer leave Annual leave purchase scheme Novated leasing – flexible vehicle leasing options Hybrid working policy – balance work and life with a flexible approach Social and mental well‑being initiatives – programs to support overall well‑being Training and development opportunities – continuous growth and learning Additional incentives may be available depending on company, business unit and individual performance About Us KCB Australia Pty Ltd (KCB) is a multi‑disciplinary consulting firm providing engineering, geoscience and environmental services globally.
