The role A rewarding opportunity to be involved in a Dementia Support Australia initiative looking to support people living with dementia who are transitioning from hospital settings back to their homes or into residential care. This role offers the chance for professional growth and exposure to a new project, making it a perfect fit for those looking to advance their career. The Workshop Facilitator will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of care provided to individuals with dementia by focusing on capability and capacity building. This position involves designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programmes and training initiatives for staff, caregivers, and other stakeholders involved in dementia care. The goal is to equip the team with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to deliver exceptional, relationship-based care and to foster a supportive and enabling environment. This role is offered as a Part time, 0.6 FTE, Fixed Term Contract until July 2028. This role is based out of our Malvern Office. Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action Strong experience in behaviour support and how to identify changes in people living with dementia or a cognitive disability Comfortable delivering training either 1:1 or large group settings, and Dynamic personality with the ability to engage audiences quickly with strong rapport building skills and to provide collaborative advice with care teams in face to face settings Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong learning agility Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with training technologies and software. Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Current Australian driver’s licence with safe driving record and willingness to travel intra and interstate Proven experience in training and education, ideally within a health care or residential care setting Understanding of dementia care principles, person-centered care, and relationship based approaches Certification or specialised training in dementia care or gerontology Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health/Allied Health & Education Physical Requirements Ability to occasionally lift and move training materials and equipment.
