Installation Theatrical Engineering – Port Melbourne VIC ITE is a leading Australian designer, manufacturer and installer of stage machinery and theatrical engineering systems, supplying performance venues across Australia and Asia. For over 40 years, Installation Theatrical Engineering (ITE) has delivered complete turnkey solutions — from motorised orchestra lifts and complex hoist systems to drape tracks, lighting bars, control systems and custom rigging. Our work can be found in performing arts centres, concert halls, schools, convention centres, broadcast studios and major entertainment venues. We specialise in installing the machinery and systems that make live performance possible — and we’re looking for another great installer to join the team. About the Role We’re looking for a reliable, mechanically minded Installer to join our Stage Machinery team in Melbourne on a full‑time basis. This is a site‑focused role , working across a wide range of venues and construction sites throughout Victoria and interstate. You’ll be hands‑on installing specialist theatre equipment and representing ITE on the ground. What you’ll be doing Primarily site installation work Installing drape track systems, lighting bars, projector screens, hoists, counterweight systems and custom brackets Working on a variety of sites — from primary school auditoriums to large multi‑level commercial and entertainment projects Operating plant and equipment (scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, scaffolding, power/hand tools) Working at heights as required Interacting with builders, site managers and other trades, acting as ITE’s on‑site representative Using shop drawings and site measurements to ensure work is completed accurately Troubleshooting and problem‑solving installations in real‑world site conditions Interstate and occasional overseas project work (approx. 3 months per year in 1–4 week blocks) Secondary workshop work (as needed) Basic fabrication, pre‑assembly and preparation of equipment for installation Career progression We are looking for someone with leadership qualities to develop into a Leading Hand role within a short period of time About You Reliable, practical and mechanically minded Comfortable working on construction sites and dealing with on‑site teams Experienced with power tools and plant equipment A qualification in Metal Fabrication / Boilermaking is ideal but not essential if you have strong mechanical/installation experience Confident reading drawings and following scope Good communicator who can represent ITE professionally on client sites Able to obtain a White Card and Working With Children Check Willing and able to travel for interstate/overseas project work Reliability, initiative and pride in your work are what we value most.
