Spudshed is passionate about produce and providing our customers with an excellent shopping experience About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Meat Department Manager to join our Spudshed team at our Stirling Store. As a Meat Department Manager, you will be able to work in a fast-paced environment as well as having excellent leadership skills to train and develop a new team. Our aim is to make our Customers and Employees experience at Spudshed a welcoming and engaging one Responsibilities: Meat Department Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to: Meet rostering requirements, daily sales targets and expense controls. Monitoring quality control, wastage and shrinkage. Bringing awareness to your team about seasonal, environmental or current quality related issues within the department. If required, inspect all stock that arrives shelf ready from centralised factory. Stock management, checking deliveries to ensure store requirements are fulfilled. Pro-actively meeting, improving and engaging your team on store presentation standards. Supporting our customers’ needs through excellent service. About you: Weekend availability. Butcher trade/knife experience favourable but not essential. Ensure shelf-ready stock is received from our centralised production facility and allocated correctly. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be prepared to work in cold conditions within the freezer section. Physically fit - regular heavy lifting/bending. Basic computer skills required. Strong analytical and problem solving. Strong leadership skills. With dedication and hard work we have expanded our farming operations to include a range of vegetables from our market gardens in Baldivis, Myalup and Manjimup, fruit from our Orchards in Kununurra, eggs from our Poultry farm in Anketell and cattle from Manjimup and North Dandalup. We also buy from and sell for local produce growers at our Market Floor in Canning Vale. One of the many advantages of our business, being hands on, is we are able to respond to customer needs quickly. This has seen Spudshed evolve over the years to a highly competitive independent retailer that now offers a full grocery range in addition to fresh produce, meat, fish, bakery and dairy.
