Assistant Manager‑Custodial Delivery – Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria Location: Werribee (primary), with duties in Parkville, Cherry Creek and other training venues across metropolitan Victoria. Overview Fixed‑term, full‑time role until 30 June 2026, VPS Grade 5 (annual salary $113,022 – $136,747 plus superannuation). Key Responsibilities Lead, coordinate and monitor the delivery of training activities across Youth Justice custody services. Provide professional development, mentoring and coaching to trainers, enhancing their professional practice. Manage and mentor a team of new Senior Officers to deliver consistent, high‑quality training. Oversee foundations and refresher training for Youth Justice workers, ensuring alignment with operational needs, best practices and compliance. Conduct training needs analyses, apply workplace learning methodologies and maintain training records. Build effective working relationships across the department and with Youth Justice leaders. Qualifications and Experience Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) or equivalent – essential. Demonstrated leadership capability managing complex systems and people. High‑level knowledge of training and assessment processes. Experience in facilitating coaching and mentoring programmes. Project management, leadership or management qualifications desirable. Current driver’s licence – required for travel across locations. Working with Children Check – required and must be maintained during employment.
