SENIOR CAREER SPECIALIST – CUSTODIAL FYMHS Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is a new, dedicated public youth mental health service and the first of its kind in Australia. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team. The Opportunity The Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) team provides specialist youth mental health care in custodial settings (Parkville and Cherry Creek sites) to young people and their families/carers. This position will hold a small case load, providing individualised support and secondary consultation to key‑stakeholders and care team members. What You'll Do Provide support in establishment and evaluation of a comprehensive trauma‑informed career consultation service within FYMHS Provide specialised, individual career consultation to support young people with mental illness who are referred to Custodial FYMHS to gain and maintain employment Coordinate the development and implementation of career consultation with young people to enhance transition supports either to community or adult custody Provide support and education to employers in how to best support young people in the workplace and develop further opportunities for ongoing work placements About You Post‑graduate qualification in Career Development, Career Education or relevant discipline Comprehensive experience providing career counselling and pathway planning to young people in youth mental health services Knowledge of the youth justice and/or criminal justice system and other relevant settings is desirable Motivated by youth‑focused, inclusive, and recovery‑oriented care All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Record Check and a Working with Children Check.
