In Australia, Pan Pacific Hotels Group owns and operates six hotels including Pan Pacific Melbourne, which is conveniently located in the heart of South Wharf providing easy access to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Central Business District and key local attractions. The Role The successful Demi Chef will be responsible for the production of menu items across our food and beverage outlets including Dock 37, Café ORR and meeting and event spaces. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with hotel standards Assist senior chefs with daily mise en place and service operations Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and OH&S practices Contribute to menu development and creative culinary concepts Support junior team members and foster a positive, collaborative kitchen environment Ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellence across all service periods Ideal Candidate Profile Previous experience as a Commis or Demi Chef within a premium hotel or fine-dining environment Strong technical skills and a genuine passion for food Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure kitchen A positive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to learning and growth Understanding of HACCP and safe food‑handling procedures Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Afternoon & night time availability is essential.
