Demi Chef – Casual We’re on the lookout for a motivated Casual Demi Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid kitchen experience who is eager to grow and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Demi Chef, you'll assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes in a specific section such as grill, sauce, or pastry. You’ll help ensure high food quality, maintain hygiene standards, and support junior kitchen staff, all while contributing to a smooth and efficient service. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and present dishes to a high standard within your assigned section Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen space Follow food safety and hygiene protocols at all times Monitor stock and assist with rotation and inventory control Support and guide Commis Chefs and junior team members Communicate effectively with other sections during service Respond to the demands of a fast-paced kitchen environment About You: 1 - 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a similar role Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food prep techniques Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs Understanding of kitchen health and safety regulations Able to perform under pressure in a busy service setting Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays What we can offer Just as our charter is to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State - we also are committed to ensuring our Team Members are protected, taken care of and of course celebrated We offer current and future team members: Free On-Site Parking Tertiary Education Partners for access to recognised Qualifications Flexible Working Arrangements and Study Leave NTAQ Team Member Card offering unlimited entry to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and other SEQ sites and generous retail & food & beverage discounts Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Family & Friends Passes Access to 470+ fitness facilities through Fitness Passport for you and your family #J-18808-Ljbffr
