Senior Business Development & Marketing Advisor – Commercial Hall & Wilcox is seeking a Senior Business Development & Marketing Advisor to join our national Business Development, Marketing & Communications team based in Sydney. About the Role and Team As part of the national Business Development, Marketing & Communications team, you will work with partners on BD, marketing and communications strategy across the Commercial practice. The role focuses on increasing brand awareness in Sydney and Newcastle and may involve national portfolios based on your expertise. The role may require travel to other Australian offices occasionally. Responsibilities Advising and supporting commercial sections' national partners and senior lawyers on strategic firm and personal brand promotion, business development, marketing and practice development strategies. Supporting the Sydney and Newcastle Partners in Charge on firm brand promotion, business development and marketing. Working with partners and senior lawyers on personal brand and practice development strategies. Identifying business development opportunities in Sydney and Newcastle markets. Advising and supporting initiatives for key commercial clients. Collaborating with the Bids & Pursuits team on firm and commercial tender submissions. Leading opportunistic bids such as proposals and capability statements. Submitting directory listings and awards. Working with the Communications team to identify and act on external profiling opportunities. Leading relevant business and industry association relationships including sponsorships. Co‑ordinating with the Events team on client, sector, and national firm events. Qualifications and Experience 7+ years’ experience in marketing and/or business development (professional services preferred). Strong knowledge of the Sydney and broader NSW markets. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key firm stakeholders. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines. Team player and proactive with strong problem‑solving abilities.
