Senior Financial Accountant Auto & General Australia (A&G) is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Toowong, Brisbane. Location: Toowong, Brisbane, Queensland Responsibilities Lead the preparation and month‑end and year‑end close, ensuring general ledger reconciliations are performed and reviewed on a timely basis. Prepare monthly management reports and annual financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow statements, variance analysis and regulatory reports. Process all required journals (accruals, provisions, etc.) and maintain accurate Ledger entries. Prepare and coordinate annual external audit files and statutory & regulatory reporting. Own the end‑to‑end accounting and planning functions for selected Group entities. Provide board and senior executive reporting. Prepare and ensure completion of monthly internal control testing. Mentor, coach and develop the Finance team’s capabilities. Support Treasury functions, including cash‑flow forecasting. Assess new business initiatives to ensure they meet all finance, regulatory and reporting requirements. Identify continuous improvement initiatives and streamline financial accounting processes. Qualifications Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and CPA/CA qualification. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a commercial or chartered environment. Strong understanding of business processes, internal controls and finance practices. Advanced Excel and data reconciliation skills; experience in an ERP environment (TM1, SQL, financial modelling) is an advantage. Attention to detail, meticulous and self‑motivated. Proven experience in process improvements and/or system implementation. Excellent communication skills, able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
