Coding Operations Manager

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Permanent full time | 40 hours per week with a monthly ADO $52.70 - $60.21 per hour (JB10-JB13) About the Role Grampians Health is seeking a skilled and motivated Coding Operations Manager to lead the day-to‑day operations of our Clinical Coding team across all campuses. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward‑thinking team. Our Clinical Coding unit includes both Health Information Managers and Clinical Coders, working in an environment where coding, activity‑based funding, and clinical documentation improvement are strongly supported by the Grampians Health Executive and Clinical Directors. This role ensures the timely and accurate completion of ICD‑10‑AM coding of inpatient episodes, supporting both internal and external deadlines and optimising NWAU outcomes. With a fully digital medical record in place, we are well positioned to develop innovative coding practices and support flexible work arrangements. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operational management of the coding team to maximise throughput. Allocate outstanding episodes for coding and monitor daily performance against targets. Ensure coding deadlines are achieved, with all episodes coded within 28 days post end‑of‑month. Set KPIs for the Clinical Coding team, in consultation with the Manager Clinical Coding & CDI. Contribute to reducing coding error rates through structured audit feedback and education. Build skills in coding audit and education delivery. Conduct performance reviews and manage professional development opportunities. Skills & Experience Qualified Health Information Manager or Clinical Coder. Minimum 4 years’ experience as a clinical coder with advanced skills in complex casemix. Demonstrated leadership experience or clear leadership potential. Proven experience in NWAU optimisation and coding audits. Strong skills in data management, analysis, and reporting. To see a full copy of the Position Description please click here Interested?
