Division: System Design Department: Onboarding & Connections Reference number: 12830 Engagement type: Permanent About The Division & Role System Design is focused on planning for the rapid changes in energy technology. As new generation and load technologies emerge, power system behaviour is becoming less predictable, and new challenges are arising with the shift from traditional machines to flexible power electronics. AEMO is responsible for keeping the power system secure, requiring operators to understand how new technologies respond to disturbances. Planners must ensure new projects meet technical standards and perform reliably, even in parts of the network not originally designed for significant generation. This role involves technical, analytical, and operational challenges—perfect for those who want to make a real impact. About The Team You Will Lead You will lead a high-performing group of 10–15 engineers who are deep specialists in system modelling, simulation techniques, electromagnetic transient analysis and power system performance.
