About The Mental Health Division The Mental Health Division (MHD) provides mental health assessment and interventions for people experiencing mental illness and their families and carers. Working from a recovery-oriented model, the Mental Health Division provides an array of hospital-based, community and specialist services for infants, children, young people, adults and older adults. About the role The Peer Support Carer Worker is an integral member of the Continuing Care Service (CCS) multidisciplinary team. Drawing on their own, unique lived experience and perspective as a carer of another person with a mental illness, they will contribute to the provision of recovery oriented, trauma-informed, evidence-based peer support interventions to families and carers. A regular day will see you: Provide invaluable support to the carers of our registered clients Make meaningful change by bringing your lived experience to our team & help us make a difference Help our clinicians to grow and understand the family/carer perspective & to provide hope and in belief in recovery About you: As the Lived Experience Worker, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to support our consumers & their carers on their recovery journey. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
