The majority of students transition to Mildura Senior College for Years 11 & 12. Students are drawn mainly from four local government primary schools in Mildura with additional enrolments from other government and non‑government schools in Victoria and southern NSW. The college’s SFO of 0.635 reflects a culturally diverse student population, including Indigenous, Tonga, Samoa, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran and other Middle Eastern states. The curriculum supports students from a core Middle Years program to a Later Years program with electives, VET, VCAL and VCE units where appropriate. Extra‑curricular and after‑school programs extend learning outside the classroom. Chaffey Secondary College offers the SEAL (Select Entry Accelerated Learning) program, a member of the SEAL Academy, and a Flexible Learning Options (FLO) program to support students at risk. The Clontarf Football Academy and Stars Academy provide mentoring for Koorie students. Selection Criteria SC1 – Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks, including coordinating and supporting others in specific work functions. SC2 – Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment. SC3 – Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high‑level oral and written communication skills. SC4 – Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position. SC5 – Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff in respect to the work area. SC6 – A commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others. Role An education support class position at this range will perform tasks in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy under supervision and direction. The role may include coordination of other education support staff within the work area or educational program. Key responsibilities include: Coordinating support tasks or the coordination of the support function under the direction of the principal or a manager. Assisting teachers by undertaking specific support tasks or coordination of support activities. Supervised health and wellbeing support tasks, medical intervention support or other specialised student/teacher support roles where required qualifications are possessed. Technical tasks that require sound knowledge of basic technical and/or scientific principles, such as routine technical support in libraries, science or information technology. Tasks are carried out under close supervision and direction. With experience, the employee may progress to take on coordination, specialised support tasks or technical tasks. Responsibilities Provide routine clerical or administrative support: general telephone, front‑office enquiries, mail deliveries, stock control, meeting support, processing standard paperwork. Maintain, enter and retrieve data from the school’s IT systems, including student, staff and school records. Maintain and update office records, enrolment data, diary records and basic written records. Support or coordinate the preparation of standard internal and external communications (e.g. form letters, newsletters). Source basic data or factual information from specified sources to support administrative functions. Coordinate the delivery of administrative services within the school. Consult with the principal to determine and manage work priorities within the school office. Develop and implement strategies to ensure effective administration procedures. Coordinate requisitioning, purchasing and issuing procedures. Manage client reception and office operations. Liaise with school staff regarding support requirements. Coordinate staff timetabling. Undertake VASS and/or VET administration support. Support first aid facilities and assist in delivering first aid to students.
