About Skyline Higher Education Australia (SHEA) Skyline Higher Education Australia (SHEA) is an Institute of Higher Education that seeks to inspire students to achieve academic success and create positive socio-economic change through innovation, science, technology, and collaboration. SHEA is registered as an Institute of Higher Education under the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Act 2011 and is regulated by Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). It is also an approved CRICOS education provider under the ESOS Act 2000. SHEA currently offers Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), Bachelor of Information Technology specialising in Cybersecurity, Bachelor of Information Technology specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Master of Information Technology (MIT) with an AI pathway and will be looking at offering new courses in the future. Role Objective The Student Services Officer ensures students and staff receive timely and efficient assistance in relation to communication, events, orientation, learning platforms, and technology-related issues. The SSO contributes to the student experience through proactive support, coordination of key services, and acting as a first point of contact for administrative and academic queries. Responsibilities Provide administrative and frontline support to students across a range of services throughout the student lifecycle – including reception, email and phone enquiries. Review and triage student requests and queries, providing accurate information and ensuring they are forwarded to the appropriate teams for resolution in a timely manner. Perform student-related administrative processes including follow ups as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the Student Management System, ensuring data integrity. Collaborate and coordinate with internal departments to facilitate effective service delivery. Provide support during orientation and campus events by executing related tasks to ensure smooth delivery each trimester. Assist students in using institutional platforms, including the Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Portal to access essential academic and administrative services, resources and information and help resolve any related issues. Deliver frontline assistance for classroom technology, ensuring prompt resolution or escalation of technical issues. Manage office requisitions by processing and tracking supply orders to ensure resources are available for smooth campus operations. Liaise with building management as required to support campus operations and facility-related matters including overseeing campus cleanliness. Monitor and report on key metrics related to student-related administrative process, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvement. Complete allocated work and projects appropriate to your position as directed by your manager or delegate in a timely manner. Selection Criteria Experience Previous experience (at least 3 years) in an administrative or student support role, preferably within an educational setting. Experience coordinating events or orientation activities desirable. Skills and Knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple email accounts and respond efficiently Basic understanding of learning management systems and student portals Familiarity with classroom technology and basic IT troubleshooting Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and email/SMS platforms Personal Attributes Friendly, approachable, and student-focused attitude Strong attention to detail and organisation skills Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure Team player with a willingness to assist others and take initiative Qualifications Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Education Support, or similar (desirable); or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
