Whittlesea Community Connections – Mernda VIC Mernda Repair Café will be the first community Repair Program for the community of Whittlesea hosted at the Mernda Community House and outdoor community space. It is a free, inclusive and cross‑cultural community event that offers repairs of personal items by volunteer Repairers. Our focus is to bring awareness of a more sustainable lifestyle where we can divert items from landfill in our community. We hope to ignite interest and the sharing of skills in repair and maintenance of items. Join the Team Be an Eco Warrior and help the community to reduce waste going to landfill. Assist with the garment repair that a community member has brought to the event. Share your knowledge of invisible mending with the community. Category Community Services Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work Fundraising & Events, Trades & Maintenance Time Required Events run once a month on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.
