We’re looking for a detail-driven HRIS & Payroll Specialist to join us at our Sydney CBD head office, taking full ownership of payroll and elevating our HRIS capability. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people are paid correctly, our data is protected, and our leadership team has the insights they need to drive a high-performing, fast-growing business. Why You’ll Love This Role Take ownership of end-to-end payroll across a diverse, multi-site workforce Lead the administration, optimisation and configuration of Employment Hero Work closely with People & Culture, Finance and the Executive team Be a key player in maintaining ISO 27001 HR controls and data security standards Make a genuine impact as we scale nationally What You’ll Do End-to-end Payroll (KeyPay) Process fortnightly payroll for around 300 staff with precision and timeliness Manage all employee lifecycle changes in Employment Hero Administer overtime, allowances, bonuses, commissions and terminations Reconcile superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax and statutory obligations HRIS (Employment Hero) Administration Act as system owner and administrator of Employment Hero Maintain data accuracy, user access and HRIS configuration Build workflows, checklists and templates to streamline processes Provide first‑line support for employee and manager HRIS/payroll queries Compliance, Awards & Reporting Ensure compliance with Fair Work, awards, legislation and internal policies Support award interpretation reviews and risk mitigation Produce accurate HR/payroll reports for P&C, Finance and leadership Support internal and external audits with high‑quality evidence and reconciliations Data Security & ISMS Maintain strong data integrity and privacy across HRIS/payroll systems Uphold ISO 27001/ISMS HR controls including access management, audit trails and evidence collection Ensure secure handling and storage of sensitive employee data Continuous Improvement Identify process improvements to increase automation and reduce manual effort Support system integrations (Finance, IT, Time & Attendance) Collaborate with P&C to align HRIS setup with policy, performance and reporting needs Essential What You’ll Bring Proven experience in Australian end‑to‑end payroll processing Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, super and PAYG Experience with cloud‑based HRIS/payroll platforms (Employment Hero highly regarded) High accuracy, attention to detail and strong confidentiality Solid Excel and reporting skills Understanding of data privacy, system security and access controls Desirable Experience in a fast‑changing environment Exposure to ISO 27001 / ISMS controls Experience with Employment Hero What Success Looks Like Accurate, compliant payroll processed on time - every time High data quality across Employment Hero Strong system utilisation and reduced manual handling Positive audit results and compliance outcomes Clear, reliable reporting delivered to stakeholders What We Offer Competitive salary: we reward performance and results Supportive, down‑to‑earth culture: collaboration and respect are at the heart of efex Birthday leave: enjoy your special day off on us Wellbeing leave: take up to two days from your personal leave each year to focus on your wellbeing If you’re passionate about accuracy, compliance and transforming HR systems for scale, we’d love to hear from you.
