Teaching Assistant - Learning Enrichment Cranbrook School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the Senior School Learning Enrichment team in our Senior School team, commencing in 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Senior School campus in Bellevue Hill. ABOUT THE POSITION The primary purpose of this position is to work with students from Years 7 to 12 who require support across a range of diverse learning needs and to support and collaborate with teachers to ensure teaching strategies are successfully implemented. Reporting to the Head of Learning Enrichment, you will be part of the team with the key role of supporting student learning needs in an inclusive classroom environment, and fostering the growth and development of the skills necessary to become a confident learner and experience academic and co-curricular progress and success. You will be supporting students in their classes; supporting students individually and in small groups with their organisation; delivering instruction one-on-one with a literacy and/or numeracy program under the guidance of a teacher; supervising individual students and/or small groups completing exams; acting as a reader, writer and/or support person for students during assessments and exams; and providing some administrative support. ABOUT YOU You will have an understanding of the educational, social and emotional needs of students with diverse learning needs, and experience or interest in a similar role in the education sector. You are a progressive, globally minded, enthusiastic and dedicated educator, with the ability to inspire students in their love of learning and in the pursuit of excellence. You are an excellent communicator, creative, and able to work well with students, parents and other staff. You are committed to continual professional development and reflection, and have a genuine interest in the growth of young people. SELECTION CRITERIA Experience with or interest in supporting students with diverse needs Exceptional interpersonal skills Good written and verbal communication skills Proficient IT skills including competency in the use of learning technologies Discretion in managing confidential information A friendly, kind and patient manner Reliable, adaptable and dependable Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously with limited supervision A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural incident Strong physical, mental and emotional health to deal with the required demands and responsibilities of the role Current First Aid and CPR qualifications A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children A demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when engaging with children Applicants holding or studying towards a Certificate IV in Educational Support, or similar qualification, or studying towards a teaching qualification will be highly regarded.
