About Waterfront Hotel Situated on the picturesque Kangaroo Bay Marina in Bellerive, The Waterfront Hotel offers a true waterfront experience. During the week, the C-bar is the perfect spot for a quiet drink with friends, a light meal, or coffee. On weekends, our locals come to enjoy live music in the evening and Sunday sessions in an al fresco setting. Our focus is on delivering a quality experience in every aspect, from food and drink to entertainment. What you can expect in a day in the role Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will be expected to be hands‑on with the daily operations, including gaming, accommodation, food and beverage across the Hotel. You’ll lead and manage a close‑knit team during your shift, always ensuring exceptional customer service while fostering strong relationships within the community. Your duties will include, but not limited to: Lead the on‑shift team to provide memorable customer service and experience Ensure health, safety, gaming and hotel operations procedures are followed Assist with staff scheduling and break management in coordination with the Hotel Manager Assisting with handling complaints and issues, as required What you will bring to the role Experience bar and gaming position within the hospitality industry or a related industry Demonstrated practical experience in the delivery of quality customer service, preferably in the areas of food and beverage and gaming Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and cooperate with co‑workers Well‑rounded, current gaming knowledge, and applied knowledge of relevant legislation/regulations applicable to the hospitality industry Availability and flexibility to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays Current Tasmanian recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and current Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RCG) Certificates, or the ability to obtain A successful applicant to the role may be subject to pre‑employment and ongoing screening checks.
