Duty Manager – Maylands Lodge, New Town TAS Employment Type: Full-TimeLocation: New Town, Hobart, Tasmania About Us: Maylands Lodge is a beautifully restored 12-room boutique hotel located in New Town, just minutes from the heart of Hobart. Steeped in history and offering a luxurious, intimate guest experience, Maylands Lodge prides itself on delivering personalised service in a peaceful and welcoming environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands‑on Duty Manager to join our team and help oversee the property's daily operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about boutique hospitality, guest service excellence, and leadership in a supportive and close‑knit team environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee day‑to‑day front office operations, guest services, and general hotel management during your shift Act as the primary point of contact for guests, ensuring their needs and expectations are exceeded Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms and property standards are maintained Manage reservations, guest check‑ins/outs, and handle guest inquiries and feedback Assist with stock management, reporting, and administrative tasks as needed Ensure compliance with WHS regulations, safety procedures, and hotel policies Respond to and manage any guest issues or emergencies in a calm and professional manner Maintain a high standard of presentation throughout the property What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a supervisory or duty manager role within hospitality (hotel, lodge, or boutique accommodation preferred) Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences Ability to work independently and confidently during solo shifts Excellent attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities Familiarity with Property Management Systems (e.g., RMS, SiteMinder) is advantageous Flexible availability to work across weekends, public holidays, and evenings as required A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate preferred (or willingness to obtain) First Aid Certificate (CPR) or willingness to obtain What We Offer A supportive and welcoming team environment Opportunity to work in a stunning heritage property with a premium guest experience focus Career growth opportunities within the wider Iron Creek Bay Estate group Staff discounts and other benefits Free onsite parking Ready to Join Us?
