Job Description The purpose of this position is to carry out the maintenance servicing of Vertiv equipment, after‑hours service work and commissioning as planned and directed by the Service Operations Manager and Thermal Supervisor. Key Responsibilities Planning & Reporting Plan your customer service maintenance visits in a structured and methodical manner. Use the digital reporting tool to accurately record hours worked and all call‑out and response times each day. Complete field service reports for every maintenance and service call attended. Operational Delivery Carry out commissioning, service contract maintenance and after‑hours service commitments professionally and efficiently. Maintain relationships with Vertiv and our customers through professional interactions and by providing feedback to the Vertiv Team. Keep training requirements current across multiple Vertiv technologies. Maintain the supplied company vehicle and personal appearance to the required standard. Manage personal onboard spares inventory; record and report inventory use. WHS, Environment & Quality Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations. Actively promote safety in the workplace. Daily Work Duties and Expectations Driver’s licence required (may involve visits to remote sites). Overnight or longer trips may be required. Unaccompanied (lone worker) after‑hours work and on‑call roster participation is needed. Attend customer service calls. Use of ladders, scissor lifts, and scaffolding. Work in tight and restricted locations. Work on and around energised electrical equipment. Work on live refrigerant lines and pressure vessels. Work at heights (requires Work at Heights Training, refreshed every five years). Work on HVAC mechanical systems that may involve awkward body positions. Lifting, carrying, and relocating equipment and components (e.g., compressors, gas bottles). Education and Qualifications Mechanical Trade Certificate (state dependant) Restricted Electrical Licence Refrigerant Handling Licence Specialist Knowledge Technical knowledge in data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial or similar industries (highly regarded). Practical Experience Proven track record within the air‑conditioning or other precision cooling industry as a service technician. Thermal controls and networking knowledge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Personal Characteristics Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills. Learning agility. Interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads. Negotiation and influencing skills. Computer literacy at an intermediate level.
