This pivotal role provides strategic leadership, clinical governance, and operational oversight for a skilled nursing team delivering high-quality, client‑focused care across multiple sites and outreach programmes. Where you'll be working: Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community. PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community‑based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services. The Role: The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional people, healthier lives'. SESLHD's Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Service (SHBBV) provides leadership, innovation and research in the sector. The service involves the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four statewide services. The Senior Nurse Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, coordination and strategic development of the Nursing team in the Sexual Health Services, within SHBBV. It is also the peak designated clinical nursing position within SHBBV services and will manage the relationships between all SHBBV nursing teams and the SESLHD Nursing Directorate. Senior Nurses outside of Sexual Health Services will have a dotted professional line into this position. Benefits: Up to 12 allocated days off each year in addition to annual leave. Qualifications: Current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Extensive clinical and leadership experience in HIV and Sexual Health or related fields. Proven leadership ability to motivate staff, lead and develop effective teams and drive a client care environment focused on continuous quality improvement. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
