About the Role An exciting 18‑month maximum term opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance – Western Animal Nutrition to lead the finance function across the Australia and New Zealand Animal Nutrition business. This role encompasses operational, commercial and procurement finance, and plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering WAN’s strategic direction. This role involves the delivery of accurate and timely monthly financial reporting and delivery of management reporting information and detailed commercial & operating insights. It also acts as a single point of contact for all Animal Nutrition financial enquiries and liaises with the General Manager to ensure his needs are appropriately serviced. Your remit will include driving clear accountability for P&L and balance‑sheet outcomes through the Animal Nutrition Business, displaying strong leadership skills and continuing to build a high‑performance team with clarity regarding the levels of work required in each role and a focus on continuous improvement – specifically focusing on financial processes. You will also be integral in reviewing the current SAP costing systems to understand and scope improved product and customer profitability analysis. Strictly maintain an environment of robust financial governance across a balance sheet reflecting net assets exceeding $70m. Streamline and simplify the budget and forecast processes. Establish a capital planning process and methodology for evaluating, prioritising and reporting capital expenditure (≈ $5m pa) including commitment reporting. Lead the development of IS tools (e.g. Tableau) to deliver deeper business insights. About You The ideal candidate will be a brilliant leader who enjoys inspiring their team towards success and has outstanding business partnering and analytical skills. Be a highly effective communicator and relationship builder who can easily interact with all parts of the business to deliver business outcomes. Have a minimum of 10 years post‑qualification experience with previous responsibility for full business unit financial performance reporting, customer pricing, margin management, cash and working‑capital management, budgeting and forecasting and a sound understanding of SAP (or similar integrated ERP system). Be highly resilient and able to quickly engage and execute change‑management strategies. Enjoy identifying and deploying process improvements. Display exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills to support the team when issues arise. Have demonstrated experience in lifting team engagement and driving cultural change.
