National Wholesale Category Manager – Ethical & PBS Medicines This is a key commercial leadership opportunity responsible for developing and executing the national category strategy for Ethical & PBS Medicines across Sigma’s wholesale network. As National Category Manager, you will drive wholesale performance, optimise the product range, lead supplier partnerships, and ensure alignment across Retail, Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations to deliver a cohesive, high‑performing category. You will also play a critical role in managing PBS/CSO requirements and overseeing specialist programs such as the Annual Flu Vaccination Program. Key responsibilities Developing and executing the national category strategy aligned to wholesale growth objectives Conducting market, competitor and customer analysis to guide strategic and in‑season decision‑making Leading wholesale and retail product ranging, including core lines, transitions, deranges and new line introductions Managing PBS/CSO and Ethical product requirements across the Amcal & DDS network Planning and executing national health programs, including forecasting, supplier negotiation, service pricing and operational readiness Building strong supplier partnerships and negotiating commercial terms, supplier income and co‑op contributions Managing category P&L performance including sales, margin, rebates and profitability Monitoring inventory performance and partnering with Supply Chain on demand forecasting and order phasing Reporting on key KPIs and delivering insights to improve category performance Leading cross‑functional alignment across Retail, Health Services, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain Providing leadership, direction and performance management to the category team About you You are a commercially minded category, procurement or product specialist with strong experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector. You bring strategic thinking, strong supplier negotiation skills and the ability to influence cross‑functional outcomes. You thrive in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment and are comfortable owning P&L performance, supplier income and strategic program delivery. What you’ll bring Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Business, Commerce, Healthcare) 2+ years’ experience in a buying, category management, procurement or related role Experience within the healthcare, pharmaceutical or retail sectors Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management capability Highly developed planning, organisational and communication skills Advanced Excel skills and strong financial understanding (desirable) Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes under pressure A proactive, detail‑oriented and collaborative approach Why Sigma Healthcare?
