We are seeking to establish a pool of Gardener – Handypersons for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part‑time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. Responsibilities Maintain the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a safe external learning environment for students and staff. Oversee the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes. Maintain hard landscaping features such as courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conduct minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies. Keep gardening facilities, equipment, tools and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition, reporting faults promptly and adhering to safe work practices. Qualifications Valid Working With Children Check. Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start. Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. Experience maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management. Experience in minor servicing of horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks. Knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals.
