It originally opened in 1988 as the 32‑bed Mandurah District Hospital, and now operates with 206 licensed beds, bays and treatment areas. This position is a specialist nursing role that provides an effective clinical function, influencing nursing practice within allocated clinical areas, both internally and externally to the health service. The role includes active participation in the coordination and attendance of MET calls, ensuring timely and expert clinical response to deteriorating patients. The position offers a global perspective on capacity and access demands, supporting clinical areas in managing local capacity challenges and human resource requirements, particularly during out‑of‑hours periods.
