We're looking for a proactive and people focused Store Leader ready to step into a rewarding role to guide our team and lead our store into its next exciting chapter. This role is ideal for someone who’s ready to step up - or step further - into leadership in the wine and retail space. About Us For over four years, SOMM Wine Store has been a trusted destination for wine lovers who seek thoughtfully curated, deliciously drinkable wines. From the classics to the contemporary, our shelves are filled with a diverse range of wines and our store is known for its range, knowledge and genuine hospitality. We’ve built a loyal wine-loving community and as our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a passionate wine professional who’s excited to help shape the future of our store. Who You Are You have a strong knowledge of Australian and International wines You bring experience from the wine and/or hospitality industry, ideally in a retail or leadership role. You’re a confident communicator who thrives on connecting with customers and building strong team culture. You’re always learning, keen to deepen your wine knowledge and grow within a business that values passion and initiative. You have a strong work ethic with a positive attitude and growth mindset You are reliable and can work flexible hours including weekends, public and school holidays. Wine certifications (like WSET) are preferred, but not essential. How You’ll Contribute Customer Engagement: Help customers discover wines they’ll love, offering guidance tailored to their tastes, occasions and budgets. Knowledge: Share insights on varietals, regions and pairings to guide and educate customers. Inventory Management: Support stock management, including receiving deliveries, organising shelves and store presentation Market Awareness: Stay sharp on wine industry trends, new releases and emerging producers Community Building: Be a welcoming face for our regulars and newcomers alike, building relationships of connection and trust. Event Participation: Support the coordination of in-store tastings, wine dinner events and educational sessions including masterclasses that engage and inspire our community What We Offer A competitive salary and incentives.
