About the Position We're recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join a well-established business. This is a 12-month contract to cover a parental leave period, beginning in early January 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and business requirements. Reporting to the Finance Manager/Controller, this role suits someone who enjoys a mix of routine accounting tasks and problem-solving across different parts of the finance function. The scope is broad, and the learning opportunities are strong. Key Responsibilities Managing the full payable cycle, including processing invoices and preparing payment runs. Completing bank reconciliations and matching AP balances across multiple entities. Preparing GST workings and submitting monthly statutory requirements. Assisting with monthly cashflow forecasting Providing occasional payroll coverage when required. Updating recurring reports such as production costing summaries and attendance data. What You'll Need to Succeed At least five years' experience in a similar accounting role. CPA qualifications are an advantage but not essential. Mandarin fluency is required to communicate effectively with overseas subsidiaries. Strong reconciliation ability and confident use of Excel. High accuracy, excellent organisation, and the ability to work to deadlines. Exposure to hourly payroll processing is beneficial but not required.
