Litigation - Class Actions - Defense Attorney in Aitkenvale, Queensland Job Responsibilities: The Senior Associate Solicitor will work primarily on product liability class actions and investigations into upcoming class actions. Key responsibilities include: Managing the conduct of multiple class actions using case plans and effectively delegating and managing legal staff. Providing strategic advice and updates to partnered litigation funders on the budgeting of individual and portfolio matters. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring regular and effective communication while managing expectations. Contributing to the origination and development of new class action opportunities. Reporting to an experienced Class Actions' Practice Leader based in Sydney CBD and receiving mentorship from a team of highly experienced class actions practitioners. Leading prominent cases and contributing to case strategy, expert evidence, and investigations into new class actions. Managing some junior solicitors and ensuring an ideal balance of autonomy and guidance. Education and Experience Information: To thrive in this role, candidates should possess: Significant experience as a solicitor practicing across complex commercial litigation and/or class actions. A desire to lead high‑performing legal teams. Strong legal analytical skills, research skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work with and manage large volumes of complex documents and reports. Ability to control the fiscal element of matters, including reporting to litigation funders and delegation of work within the team. A commitment to connect with colleagues and work collaboratively to deliver exceptional results for clients.
