Our People Awards - On-the-spot Recognition, Quarterly Values Awards & Our People Annual Awards Access to our Employee Assistance Program Duties It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Paralegal you will : Legal research, including legislation, regulation, case law, guidance, policies, procedures and industry best practice prepare regular updates on the introduction of new laws and regulations, recent case law and other relevant regulatory and parliamentary information coordinate subpoena returns including reviewing scope, sourcing relevant documents and reviewing of documents for relevance and legal professional privilege prepare draft advice and contracts assist with litigation including preparation of documents to brief counsel Board Governance coordinate and maintain records of all decisions made by the Board / Committees in various registers prepare drafts of agendas and minute shells Administration general administrative tasks, such as filing, co-ordination and chairing team meetings, coordination of team events and changes to intranet pages provide initial contact point services, together with information, advice and escalation where necessary to the appropriate person for resolution. Your story so far Completed or currently studying a Bachelor of Laws with an Australian university or paralegal studies with a recognised educational institution in Australia Sound knowledge of legal terminology and principles Some understanding of the research associated with legislation and legal precedents A range of experience in providing paralegal support to a legal practice and / or an in-house legal team.
