As a valuable member of the team, you will undertake fund accounting responsibilities and work closely with our senior team. Polar 993 is seeking a full-time Fund Accountant who has a strong foundation in accounting principles and a commitment to accuracy and precision. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with relevant academic credentials and accounting knowledge. The role of the Fund Accountant will include undertaking day-to-day fund accounting operations for the funds that the firm acts as a trustee and responsible entity. The role will report to the Senior Fund Accountant. Polar is Melbourne based. Qualifications & experience 3-5 years’ experience in a Fund Accounting, ideally with a fund manager or fund administrator. Degree-qualified in Accounting and/ or Finance (CPA/CA qualified or willingness to study CPA/CA preferred). Knowledge of financial instruments or other asset classes, such as property, loans or private equity. Proficiency in use of MS Office suite, and generally technology savvy. Tasks & responsibilities Oversee day-to-day fund accounting operations, including NAV calculations, fund expenses, unit pricing, income distributions, and capital transactions. Assist with the review of investments across private equity, venture capital, credit and property funds. Maintain accurate custody records and ensure timely settlement and reconciliation of assets. Review and approve fund administration processes such as capital calls, redemptions, distributions, and fee calculations. Coordinate with external service providers and auditors to support compliance, tax, BAS, and audit requirements.
