About Marketing & Business Development We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager, based in Sydney or Melbourne , to help drive growth in G+T’s market‑leading Energy, Resources and Infrastructure (ERI) practice and Energy sector team. This is a strategic role for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, collaborates confidently with senior stakeholders and sees opportunity where others see complexity. Working closely with partners and the broader Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) team, you will shape and deliver initiatives that strengthen our market position, deepen client relationships and unlock new revenue opportunities. You will work alongside sector‑leading partners who value clarity, momentum and fresh thinking. Partnering closely with the ERI partners and colleagues across the M&BD team, you will support the firm’s growth by building strong client relationships, elevating our market presence and working with partners to develop new opportunities. About The Role The Senior Business Development Manager will play a central role in delivering G+T’s Energy, Resources and Infrastructure (ERI) and Energy sector growth strategy. Working closely with partners and senior stakeholders, you will combine strategic planning with hands‑on business development activity to strengthen client relationships and our market position. Your responsibilities include: Refine and help deliver G+T’s ERI strategy in line with firm‑wide objectives. Develop and manage annual ERI business plans with clear goals and success measures. Monitor sector trends, competitor activity and market developments to shape priorities. Drive client targeting programmes and identify new opportunities with partners. Develop tailored client account plans for key ERI clients. Support cross‑practice collaboration to broaden and deepen client relationships. Capture client listening insights and translate them into actionable strategies. Support partners on strategic pursuits, proposals and RFPs. Prepare persuasive capability statements, credentials and client‑facing materials. Coach partners and lawyers for client meetings and presentations. Plan and deliver ERI‑focused campaigns, thought leadership and client events. Work with Communications to elevate the ERI profile across media, publications and digital channels. Build strong internal relationships across practices and offices as a trusted adviser. Collaborate with the national BD team to integrate ERI initiatives into firm‑wide programmes. Contribute to improving BD processes, tools and best practice. About You You thrive in a dynamic environment, work confidently with senior stakeholders and bring a strategic, commercial mindset to business development. You are proactive, collaborative and energised by the opportunity to influence outcomes. What You Will Have Eight or more years’ experience in business development, client management or strategic marketing. Experience in professional services, ideally at a law firm or in a legal environment. Strong understanding of the Energy, Resources and Infrastructure sector and its commercial landscape. A record of delivering business development and client engagement programmes that achieve measurable outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong commercial acumen and confidence engaging senior stakeholders. A collaborative, adaptable and proactive approach.
