Nursing Unit Manager Upper GI/Colorectal NSW Health is looking for an experienced and dynamic Manager to lead the Upper Gastrointestinal/Colorectal Ward. This temporary part‑time job‑share role works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Where you’ll be working Ward 8B has a strong focus on multidisciplinary teamwork, with cross referrals between the physicians and surgeons, and daily team meetings. The Ward is supported by enthusiastic nursing staff, a variety of allied health professionals, Clinical Nurse Consultants for Stomal Therapy and Total Parenteral Nutrition, and a Ward‑Based Clinical Nurse Educator. The senior staff on Ward 8B includes Clinical Nurse Specialists. Staff are provided with a supportive environment and are encouraged to extend their skills. What You’ll Be Doing The Nurse Unit Manager will manage a unit or ward to provide a high quality standard of care to NSLHD patients. Candidate Requirements Registered Nurse‑Division 1 with APHRA and a relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience; demonstrated commitment to professional development. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, roster management systems and electronic medical records. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in change management and initiating a new service delivery model within an established service.
