Nursing Unit Manager Severe Burn Injury Unit Nursing Leaders – the Severe Burn Injury Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead the team in the role of Nursing Unit Manager. The position is a job share role, 14hrs per week for 12 months. Where you’ll be working Royal North Shore Hospital is one of 3 major centres for burn injuries in NSW. The unit together with Concord, and the Children’s Hospital Westmead, is part of the NSW Severe Burn Injury Service. Hospitals from around the state contact staff in the units for advice and refer serious burn injuries for specialist treatment. What You’ll Be Doing The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will manage a unit or ward in order to provide a quality standard of care to NSLHD Patients. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Candidate Criteria Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) AND Relevant management tertiary qualification OR equivalent work experience, OR a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to professional development. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team. Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, roster management systems and electronic medical records. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in change management and initiating a new service delivery model within an established service. Evidence of and commitment to patient/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement. Need more information?
