Location The Emergency Department of Royal North Shore Hospital includes adult and paediatric resuscitation bays, trauma areas, acute care units, fast‑track, and an Emergency Medical Unit. The centre also serves as a major trauma referral centre. Responsibilities Direction, coordination, and supervision of nursing activities. Training, appraisal, performance development, and counselling of nursing staff. Rostering and allocation of nursing staff. Development and implementation of new nursing practice based on patient needs using Evidence Based Practice. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Qualifications Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, including post‑registration experience in Emergency Nursing. Current experience as an Acting NUM in a tertiary referral hospital or equivalent experience in a mixed adult and paediatric ED. Demonstrated experience in managing a team and recent operational/clinical management experience in a mixed adult and paediatric tertiary ED. Evidence of ongoing learning, professional development, and tertiary qualifications in Management, or willingness to undertake. Experience evaluating complex models of care and leading change in a multidisciplinary environment. Commitment to customer service and quality improvement, with ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
