That's why we are passionate about not only what we do, but how we do it. About the role We are looking for a Production Manager - Afternoon Shift to report to the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for leading and managing a Sheet Metal and Assembly Plant (Commercial and Domestic) as well as a Controls Manufacturing Plant. Shift Hours: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM Direct Reports: You will lead an Afternoon Shift Production Team of 20-30 employees Key Responsibilities Lead the afternoon shift, coordinating the production program according to the production plan. Actively pursue all production issues, including quality, equipment status, and staffing levels. Ensure full adherence to the company's WHS Policies and Procedures and Quality Systems by factory personnel. Coach and mentor direct reports to develop in their positions. Continually seek new / alternative methods to increase / enhance production or reduce waste. Ensure effective utilisation and monitoring of all resources (materials, labour, machinery). Conduct a daily shift handover with the Production Manager - Day Shift and the Operations Manager - Controls. What you will need to be successful in this role At least 5 years' experience in a similar leadership position within Manufacturing is essential. Experience or qualifications in the HVAC industry are desirable but not essential. An extensive understanding and working knowledge of manufacturing processes is required. A sound understanding of an Assembly and Sheetmetal process and industry is essential. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and highly effective people skills. A sound understanding and working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement Systems. Strong computer literacy is essential, particularly with Microsoft Office products.
