We have multiple exciting opportunities for talented professionals to join a small, high-impact team dedicated to designing and delivering culturally safe and inclusive training programs for First Nations communities. 1.Senior Training Design Officer – APS6 2.Training Package Design Lead – EL1 Location : Anywhere in NSW Employment Type : Temporary, Full-Time Salary (inclusive of super): APS6 Senior Training Design Officer : $67.53 / hr EL1 Training Package Design Lead : $674.86 / day Reports to : Assistant Director / Director Security Clearance : Not Required About the Team These positions sit within the Organisational Cultural Safety Team , part of the broader First Nations Group. The team focuses on embedding cultural safety across services for First Nations people with disability. It is a small, high-impact team currently comprising an EL1 and APS6, with plans to expand. The team values collaboration, flexibility, cultural awareness, and a supportive work culture. Position Overview APS6 Senior Training Design Officer The APS6 officer plays a key role in designing, developing, and facilitating culturally safe and inclusive training. This role works closely with internal teams and First Nations stakeholders to co‑design learning solutions, develop resources, and contribute to workforce capability initiatives. EL1 Training Package Design Lead The EL1 role leads end‑to‑end design and development of training packages, providing strategic guidance, managing APS6 staff, and ensuring effective project delivery. This role is responsible for embedding cultural safety into training and leading workforce capability initiatives. Key Responsibilities Both Roles Design, develop, and deliver training packages using adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. Co‑design training materials with First Nations stakeholders to ensure cultural safety, relevance, and responsiveness. Develop learning resources including facilitator guides, participant materials, eLearning modules, and induction content. Pilot training packages, gather feedback, and implement continuous improvement. Monitor training effectiveness and contribute to reporting for senior leadership. Promote staff wellbeing through inclusive, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive training. EL1 Additional Responsibilities Lead APS6 staff and guide training projects end‑to‑end. Manage vendor relationships and coordinate external training providers. Align training initiatives with workforce capability planning and broader strategic goals. Represent the organisation in relevant forums and advocate for workforce development. Key Skills & Experience Essential Demonstrated expertise in instructional design and training development. Strong understanding of cultural safety and First Nations perspectives. Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects (EL1 : demonstrated leadership). Experience with eLearning platforms (Articulate Rise & Storyline preferred). Experience working with First Nations communities or transferable experience from community / non‑profit organisations. Desirable Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122). Public sector or disability services experience. Experience contributing to workforce capability planning. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, training, human resources, or a related field. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly desirable).
