As a Population Health Trainee, you’ll help improve health outcomes for Aboriginal communities while completing a fully funded Master of Public Health. Over a three‑year, full‑time traineeship, you’ll be employed as a Health Manager (Level 1) and gain practical experience across teams such as BreastScreen, Health Promotion and the Public Health Unit. Your connection to community and understanding of the factors that shape Aboriginal health will guide your work as you support programs that make a real difference. You’ll have generous study leave, support from Ministry of Health trainee networks, and ongoing cultural guidance from our Aboriginal Health Unit. SWSLHD operates its services across the traditional lands of the Dharawal, Darug and Gundungurra peoples, in strong partnership with local Aboriginal communities to deliver better, culturally responsive health care, led by our Aboriginal Health services. Ability to meet the admission requirements for the postgraduate degree of Master of Public Health (MPH) at a university in Australia. Sound knowledge of social, cultural, political and health issues affecting Aboriginal people, families and communities, including demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of Aboriginal Health. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with community organisations, nongovernment and government agencies. Applicants must possess an Australian C‑Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
