What you’ll do As a Human Resources Business Partner based in Brisbane, you will play a pivotal role in supporting leaders across multiple departments by offering expert advice on a wide range of HR matters. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with internal stakeholders such as payroll teams, ICT professionals, HR operations staff, supervisors, contractors, and external partners like recruitment agencies. You will be instrumental in driving initiatives related to workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding new employees smoothly into their roles, managing performance effectively through coaching sessions with managers at all levels—including senior leadership—and resolving complex employee relations issues. By staying abreast of industry developments and legislative updates, you will ensure all HR practices remain compliant while continuously seeking ways to improve service delivery. Your ability to build strong relationships across geographically dispersed teams will be key in embedding yourself as a trusted advisor who champions best-practice HR solutions tailored to meet diverse business needs. Partner closely with leaders across various client groups to provide expert guidance on all aspects of human resources management, ensuring alignment with organisational policies and strategic objectives. Deliver timely coaching and advice to leaders on recruitment, selection processes, performance management, capability development, job analysis, and employee relations matters. Stay informed about contemporary HR practices, industry trends, and legislative changes to provide up-to-date advice that supports compliance and best practice. Advise on operational HR matters such as leadership capability assessment, workforce planning, induction/on-boarding processes, compensation including remuneration and benefits, job evaluations, disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, dispute resolution, and investigations. Conduct role evaluations to ensure compliance with industrial instruments and organisational remuneration frameworks while supporting fair and equitable outcomes. Engage proactively with employees at all levels to embed the People, Culture & Safety team as trusted advisors throughout the business. Respond efficiently to ad‑hoc queries from management or staff by providing direct support or referring them to appropriate subject‑matter experts as needed. Ensure strict adherence to all work health and safety protocols as well as quality and environmental management systems in daily operations. Undertake additional duties as assigned by senior leadership in line with evolving business needs. Consistently uphold behavioural expectations outlined in the organisation's Code of Conduct while promoting policies that foster an inclusive workplace. Extensive knowledge of relevant employment legislation and regulations is required along with demonstrated experience developing robust human resource policies and improving existing systems. Proven ability to coach and mentor individuals up to Senior Manager level ensures you can nurture talent while supporting organisational goals. Demonstrated skill in interpreting complex legislation, regulations, codes of practice—and translating these into practical guidance for stakeholders at all levels is vital for effective decision‑making. Strong background in industrial relations within dynamic environments is necessary; familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing employment law will enable you to navigate challenging situations confidently. Experience delivering HR services across geographically dispersed locations highlights your adaptability when supporting multi‑site teams. Well‑developed interpersonal skills are crucial for building consultative relationships with diverse professional groups both internally (payroll/ICT/leadership) and externally (recruitment agencies/industry associations). Ability to maintain open communication channels ensures information flows seamlessly between staff members at all levels—fostering trust throughout the organisation. Willingness to travel within the catchment area demonstrates your commitment to providing hands‑on support wherever it is needed most.
