We are seeking cooks & chefs to join us at The Marina, inFull Time, Part Time and Casual positions . We offer a great work life balance,paid overtime , and a highly dynamic and challenging work environment every day of the year The Venues The Marina Mindarie is home to multiple venues including The Boat, Indian Ocean Brewing Company, Pavilion Function Center, Cabana & Lifeboat. We are seeking cooks & chefs to hit the ground running in what is a very exciting opportunity. We love what we do and want you to share the same enthusiasm Reporting to the Head Chef, responsible for all aspects of this busy kitchen, you will help create menus, stock control, ensure wastage is kept to an absolute minimum, maintain strict adherence to all health and safety requirements and oversee the smooth running of service, delivering quality meals in a timely and organized manner. Full-time, the salary is $70,000 to $80,000, plus overtime. About you You will have a combination of skills that encompass attention to detail and be able to cook in all sections of the kitchen, as well as a creative mind. You will have a sense of urgency and work well in a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised when required, providing a safe and supportive environment for kitchen staff to work in Acknowledge that your work is a key part of the team that delivers memorable food experiences. Highly motivated at all times. Great work ethic and commitment to the position with a sense of fun. Strong organizational skills. A mature approach to the way you conduct yourself. Have the ability to work within a busy kitchen and adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations during food handling and cooking. Excellent attention to detail and enjoys working to high standards. Able to take direction and work alongside Sous Chefs and the Executive Chef; including monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for necessary ingredients and supplies; creatively developing new dishes and experimenting with flavours to keep the menu fresh. Work as a team and have great communication with both BOH & FOH teams, by collaborating with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation efficiently and communicating with FOH to ensure smooth food delivery to customers. Skills & experience Must have previous experience in a kitchen. Preferably a qualified chef, or relevant experience, or willing to complete an apprenticeship with us. Have experience working under pressure. Live within a comfortable distance from The Marina and must have own transport. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
