EOI - Guidance Officer - Temporary Relieving Pool 2026 - Metropolitan South Region Qualified applicants are invited to express their interest in short‑term temporary and relieving Guidance Officer opportunities across the Metropolitan South Region. This continuous talent pool is open to candidates who meet the mandatory requirements outlined in the attached role description. Vacancies may be filled for periods of up to six months. The salary rate shown reflects full‑time (1 FTE). This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months. Attach certified copies of your relevant qualifications and transcripts (e.g., Masters in Guidance and Counselling, or equivalent). About The Guidance Officer Role Provide counselling, psycho‑educational assessment, and individual student support, addressing educational, behavioural, career, mental health, and family issues. Advocate for students and offer recommendations to teachers and parents. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and build partnerships with parents, staff, and external agencies to enhance student engagement, referral and access to programs, and comprehensive support. Counsel and assist students in decision‑making for education, social‑emotional development, and career pathways, providing ongoing guidance during implementation. Conduct observations and assessments to identify learning difficulties, disabilities, or emotional needs, recommending educational adjustments and interventions.
