Medical Receptionist

We are looking for a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our small team of specialists, at our bright and modern medical practice in Burwood East, VIC. This is a part‑time role of 2 days per week, preferably Tuesday and Thursday (can be flexible for the right person). At Burwood Specialist Care, you would be assisting our practice principal Dr Michael Wu who is a Vascular Surgeon, as well as our visiting Endocrinologist and Vascular Sonographer team. Responsibilities Greeting and welcoming patients both over the phone and in person, with a warm and professional manner Scheduling and managing patient appointments both in person and over the phone, theatre bookings, monitoring emails and responding in a timely manner Handling patient inquiries over the phone and providing exceptional customer service Medical typing from transcription software, following dictations regarding follow up tasks and maintaining patient files Patient billing, claims to Medicare and theatre billing Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a job share style team environment depending on the days schedule Liaising with other healthcare providers and external stakeholders as required Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service role Proficient in using medical software an advantage but not essential (we use Genie and Gentu), computer literate in Word, Outlook and letter templates Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, medical terminology an advantage but not essential Strong organisational and time management abilities, ability to prioritise tasks in order of importance Able to follow instructions from our specialists and assist them with their administration tasks, whilst demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality An interest in the healthcare industry and a passion for providing solutions to our patients enquiries and delivering high-quality patient care What we offer On the job training to support the professional and personal growth of our team Flexible hours if needed for your family Competitive salary based on experience Opportunities for career development and a collaborative work environment Free onsite parking in a recently renovated, light and bright office About us Dr Michael Wu Vascular Surgeon whose primary office is at Burwood Specialist Care.
