This is a permanent full-time position commencing as soon as possible WA College of Agriculture - Denmark is a 450-hectare working farm and educational facility for Year 10, 11 and 12 students, offering a wide variety of studies and industry training with an agricultural focus. We attract students from across the state, from a wide range of backgrounds, and have a capacity of around 140 students. One of five WA Colleges of Agriculture, Denmark is considered a leading light in achieving outstanding educational and training outcomes for young men and women in agriculture and related fields. We deliver Australian Curriculum courses to Year 10 students and Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses to Year 11 and 12 students. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we deliver Certificate II qualifications across a range of industry areas including Agriculture, Automotive, Conservation and Land Management, Engineering, Equine, and Horticulture. The Role This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of agricultural education in a hands‑on, real‑world learning environment. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Technical Officer – Agricultural Instruction to join our dedicated team. The role will primarily focus on general farm operations, with some contribution to our horticulture program. The successful applicant will ideallydeliver practical and theoretical training to secondary school students across a range of general farm activities and play a key role in supporting seasonal operations. The position will also assist in horticultural tasks as needed. Your guidance will help students develop essential skills for careers in agriculture. Key Responsibilities Deliver instruction in general farm practices including horticulture, tractor and machinery use, safe chemical use, maintaining water supplies, fencing, and other seasonal agricultural activities. (We are happy to work with your strengths and upskill you where needed). Train students through hands‑on activities as part of daily farm operations. Assist with horticultural tasks including planting, pruning, and harvesting when required. Maintain farm equipment to ensure safe and effective operation. Promote best‑practice safety standards and farming techniques. Collaborate with farm management and staff. Be flexible and willing to support other farm enterprises as required. Whilst a Certificate III in Agriculture (or related industry) and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are essential to levels 2 and 3, we are able to consider applicants who have not yet attained these. The successful applicant will be appointed at Level 1, 2 or 3 (dependent on current qualifications and experience) and supported to obtain the necessary qualifications within the first 12 months of employment. Please note: The salary level for this position will be determined after the successful applicant is assessed as addressing all eligibility and selection criteria indicated in the relevant attached JDF in the context of the outcomes and selection criteria described. The highest rate an applicant can start at as a L1 is Level 1.4 (as negotiated with the principal). However, applicants may still be able to commence at a L2.1 if suitably qualified or with requisite experience. Level 1.3, $72,026 - Level 1.4, $74,951 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024) + 15.3% commuted allowance (PSCA 2024) Level 2, $76,912 - $82,464 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024) + 15.3% commuted allowance (PSCA 2024) Level 3, $86,439 - $92,795 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024) + 15.3% commuted allowance (PSCA 2024) Want to know more?
